Endgame Gear is a small team that started in Berlin, Germany that has slowly grown to include members in other parts of the world giving us a diverse collection of minds and ideas. Launching our first product the XM1 in 2019 and praised on a global scale we’ve since expanded on the shape that had taken the enthusiast community by storm with the XM1 RGB and XM1r which saw us completely rework the electronics helping to improve on what was already considered one of the best mice of 2019. Expanding our line up and introducing CORDURA® mouse pads has continued to let us grow within the enthusiast space.

Our mice are the only ones on the market using the Analog Key Sensing Technology. The Analog Technology is faster (detects and processes clicks in <1ms), more accurate and does not need debouncing compared to digital click processing. We plan to have more content about the analog technology on our subreddit in the near future!

Currently we are offering 3 different mouse pad series: MPJ, MPC and MPX. MPJ is a control oriented, uncoated cloth pad. MPC and MPX are both speed oriented pads with surfaces made from Cordura fiber. MPC features a natural rubber base and the MPX comes with a silicone base. If you haven't already, please try flashing to a firmware 2.x version and then setting the lift-off distance (LoD) in the software from 2 to 3mm. If that doesn't help, please contact our support team.

Either use the "XM1 Configuration Software" and press the "Update" button in the "Update" tab next to "current firmware version" or download a stand-alone firmware from the Downloads page and follow the instructions:

  1. extract the folder contained in the .zip file
  2. connect only one XM1 to the PC in case you have more than one
  3. run the .exe from the extracted folder as administrator (right click on in Windows Explorer -> "run as administrator")
  4. if a blue window appears, select "more info" and "run anyway"
  5. click on the "Update Firmware" button
  6. wait until done
  7. In case the flashing process fails with the XM1 being unresponsive and both LEDs blinking Red, hit the "Update Firmware" button once again using the keyboard or a second mouse, that is not an XM1 (otherwise it will more or less randomly flash one of them, but not necessarily the one you wanted to flash). In even rarer cases, un-plugging and re-plugging the XM1 from the USB port is needed to run the flashing process again after it failed.
Note: BETA firmwares usually contain more bug fixes or performance enhancements than the latest version that is included in the software. On some systems, there can potentially be minor bugs with latest BETA firmwares, so they won't be included into the software until they are validated. In the case you have any trouble after flashing to the latest BETA firmware, you can always flash back to the previous official firmware using the "XM1 Configuration Software"

The mouse is in boot-loader mode. Simply flashing the firmware again returns it back to normal. You can use the XM1 Configuration Software or any firmware from the Downloads page. Make sure to unzip the firmware folder if you are flashing it without the XM1 Configuration Software and run the .exe as administrator (right click in Windows Explorer -> „run as administrator“).

The XM1 doesn't have any smoothing or acceleration by default. The PixArt PMW3389 sensor has smoothing by default above ~1900 CPI in order to reduce jitter. When Ripple Control is enabled, it doesn't have any influence below 1900 CPI, but above this threshold, smoothing is applied and jitter reduced, at the cost of a few frames of added motion delay.

XM1 RGB

If you haven't already, please try flashing to firmware 1.01 and then setting the lift-off distance (LoD) in the software from 2 to 3mm. If that doesn't help, please contact our support team.

Firmware 1.01 and newer address this issue. You can flash to firmware 1.01 using the "XM1 RGB Configuration Software'' by pressing the "Update" button in the "Update" tab next to "current firmware version". Alternatively, you can use any of the stand-alone BETA firmwares to flash to a newer version.

We are currently investigating this bootup issue. In the meantime, we already have two BETA firmware versions, which you can get from our Discord channel #dev-updates (link to Discord in the footer at the end of the page). Either one of the versions worked for everyone trying it with the issue. Try BETA firmware 1.08 first and if it doesn't work, try 1.09. If you encounter any bugs or unwanted behavior, you can always flash back to firmware 1.01 using the software or 1.00 via the stand-alone firmware download.

The switch signal signatures across the whole range of the mass production units had a higher variance than we anticipated based on the hundreds of switches used for the calibration, hence we needed to adjust the click detection algorithm to work perfectly with the bigger signal range. There are two BETA firmwares available in our Discord channel #dev-updates (link to Discord in the footer at the end of the page). 1.7.237 has the same default 1mm lift-off distance (LoD), while 1.7.238 has a higher lift-off distance of 2mm for mouse pads with a rougher surface. Flashing XM1r firmwares only works from lower to higher versions, so we advise to try 1.7.237 first and if the tracking issues persist, flash to 1.7.238.

While the software is still in development, flash the XM1r to BETA firmware 1.7.238 from our Discord channel #dev-updates (link to Discord in the footer at the end of the page). Firmware 1.7.230 from the Downloads section and the newer BETA firmwares from our Discord channel #dev-updates (link to Discord in the footer at the end of the page) address this issue. Flashing to either one of them fixes the scroll bug. Just run the .exe file and hit the Upgrade button.

The XM1r has 4 CPI profiles by default. To switch between them, simply press the CPI button at the bottom of the mouse. The predefined steps are as follows: 400 (Blue), 800 (Green, default selection), 1600 (Yellow) and 3200 (Red).

3 different polling rates can be selected by holding the CPI button at the bottom of the XM1r for 2 seconds and then letting go of the button. With just the left LED lighting up, polling rate is at 125Hz, with just the right LED at 500Hz and with both LEDs lighting up at 1000Hz.
